Timburr, Gurdurr, and Conkeldurr have arrived in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet as a part of the Teal Mask DLC in the new Kitakami area. Like Pokemon Sword/Shield, Kitakami opens up a new Pokedex for players to complete, meaning the Timburr-line is going to need to be registered to fill out the pages.

Evolving Timburr is relatively easy, but Scarlet/Violet players may have some problems getting Gurdurr into Conkeldurr. Trade-evolving has always been a part of the Pokemon games, so it’s not surprising to see it carried over throughout the generations. Unfortunately, Gurdurr is just one of the many Pokemon that need to be traded to evolve, creating a potential obstacle for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet trainers who are intent on completing the Kitakami Dex.

How to Get Timburr & Gurdurr

Players can find Timburr in three areas of Kitakami:

  • Mossfell Confluence (other side of the river)
  • Oni Mountain (before Infernal Pass)
  • Paradise Barrens
  • Wisftul Fields (north; near Paradise Barrens)

They can also find Gurdurr in the Mossfell Confluence area, but it’s a bit rarer than its pre-evolved form. If players go to the shed where they can purchase the Syrupy Apple needed to evolve Applin into Dipplin, there will sometimes be a Gurdurr nearby.

Timburr and Gurdurr’s level is influenced by the player’s progress in Scarlet/Violet‘s main story. The Fighting-types will be found at levels 19-25 or level 60 (Timburr), and level 25 or level 68 (Gurdurr). If players have completed all three storylines including “The Way Home”, they will be in the level-60s range.

Timburr and Gurdurr will also appear in 2-star Tera Raids and 3-star Tera Raids respectively.

How to Evolve Timburr into Gurdurr & How to Evolve Gurdurr into Conkeldurr

Gurdurr In The Pokemon Anime

Timburr will evolve into Gurdurr once it reaches level 25. If players catch a Timburr after the Scarlet/Violet storyline, its level will be way beyond 25. Simply level it up one more time to evolve it via battling, auto-battle, or Exp. Candy/Rare Candy.

With a newly-evolved Gurdurr, the next step is to get Gurdurr to evolve into Conkeldurr. To do this, players need to trade Gurdurr to another trainer. Online services require a Nintendo Online Membership (Individual or Family). The lowest price for an individual online membership subscription is $3.99 a month; a yearlong membership is $19.99. If players are purchasing the Family Membership, the price is $34.99 a year.

To trade Pokemon, players need to do the following:

  1. Get the Individual (or Family) Online Membership.
  2.
  3. Open up Scarlet/Violet, and select Poke Portal from the pause menu (X-button).
  4. Select Link Trade, and input a Link Code, or set up a Link Code.
  5.
  6. Since players will want to get the Conkeldurr back so that it registers to their Dex, it’s advised to set up a Link Code and give it to a friend. Exchanging Gurdurrs will allow both parties to get Conkeldurr.

How to Get Conkeldurr without Trading

Players that don’t have an online membership or anyone to trade with can instead get Conkeldurr by using Pokemon HOME and Pokemon Sword & Shield. In Sword & Shield, there’s a Wanderer Conkeldurr past the bridge at Motostoke Riverbank in the Wild Area. It will be pop up near the tree at the first brick wall/bridge (not the second near the Nursery).

Conkeldurr appears during any weather EXCEPT Sandstorm, Blizzard, and Harsh Sunlight. Since weather can be rather finicky in Sword/Shield, players are going to need to go into their Switch Settings and change the date time.

  1. Go into System Settings on the Switch’s home screen.
  2. Scroll down to System and select it with A-button.
  3. Scroll down to Date and Time.
  4. If the Synchronize Clock via Internet is On, switch it to Off.
  5. If the Synchronizing is Off, then players will be able to manually put in a Date and Time for the Switch.
  6. Change the date to 07/20/2020, 06/19/2020, or 11/13/2019 (US timezones).
  7.
  8. Go into Pokemon Sword, and fly to the Motorstoke Riverbank to see if the weather is normal/clear.
  9. Conkleldurr should spawn near the brick bridge/wall. If it doesn’t appear, then try setting another date/time. This Pokemon will be level 55 or 60 depending on if players have completed the Sword/Shield main story.

Conkeldurr also appears in 5/6-star Tera Raids (Kitakami only) in Scarlet/Violet.

Transferring Conkeldurr to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet with Pokemon HOME

  1. Once the Conkeldurr is caught in Sword/Shield, place it in a PC Box and save the game.
  2. Go into the home screen and select Pokemon HOME.
  3.
  4. In HOME, open Sword or Shield, then transfer the Conkeldurr from its PC Box to one of HOME‘s Basic Boxes. Save and exit.
  5. Now, open Scarlet or Violet, and move the Conkeldurr from the Basic Box to one of Scarlet/Violet‘s PC Boxes. Save and exit to register its entry to the Kitakami Pokedex.

Players can also catch Timburr or Gurdurr in Pokemon GO, evolve it, and then transfer it to HOME through GO‘s settings. This can be accessed by selecting the Connected Devices and Services in the Settings menu. If Pokemon HOME has been linked to the Pokemon GO account, players can select Pokemon to send to HOME so long as they have Transfer Energy. The Pokemon from GO can then be moved in the HOME version on the Switch.
