Towards the west side of Mossui Town in The Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players can find a photographer named Perrin, who has a Hisuian Growlithe by their side. At first, she won’t have much to offer players, but once trainers catch at least 150 Pokemon in the Kitakami Pokedex, a new side quest will open up, ending with an encounter with Bloodmoon Ursaluna. Here’s the process players will need to go through.

How to Catch Bloodmoon Ursaluna in The Teal Mask

Battling Perrin

Once the 150 Pokemon are caught, Perrin will want to challenge players to a battle to prove the players’ worth. She doesn’t have a full team of monsters, so most players should have no trouble taking her down.

After the battle, she’ll tell players about Bloodmoon Ursaluna, which will kick off the side quest. Meet Perrin at the Timeless Woods in the northeastern corner of Kitakami.

Timeless Woods

Speak to Perrin again to start a little camera mini-game before going toe-to-toe with Ursaluna. Walk around the woods and find ten different species of Pokemon to take pictures of. Just be careful not to get too close to the Pokemon, as that will make them run away.

Once the pictures are taken, this will finally lead to the encounter with Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna Battle

The battle with Bloodmoon Ursaluna is unlike a normal Pokemon fight, as players will not be able to capture it until its health is fully depleted. The Pokemon is a Ground/Normal-type, so players should try and bring a team of monsters that know these types of moves: Water, Grass, Ice, and Fighting.

Ursaluna will be level 70 and has the Mind’s Eye ability, which makes the Pokemon ignore changes to opponents’ evasiveness, and its accuracy cannot be lowered. Also, Bloodmoon Ursaluna can attack Ghost-type Pokemon with Normal- and Fighting-type moves. It will have the following moves as well:

Move

Power

Description

Blood Moon

140

The user unleashes the full brunt of its spirit from a full moon that shines as red as blood. The moves can’t be used twice in a row.

Earth Power

90

The user makes the ground under the target erupt with power. This may also lower the target’s Sp. Def stat.

Slash

70

The target is inflicted with a slash of claws, scythes, or the like. This move has a heightened chance of landing a critical hit.

Calm Mind

The user calms its spirit to boost its Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats.
