Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s first DLC came out just a little over a week ago, with The Teal Mask taking players to the region of Kitakami to learn more about the local culture and connect with its people. Players soon start learning about the legend of the ogre that attacked Mossui Town a long time prior to the events of the DLC, with the only defenders of the village being three brave Pokemon called Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti – something that is soon revealed to be false. Instead, Ogerpon went looking for the so-called Loyal Three to avenge his human companion’s death, and it’s hinted at by the Kitakami Pokedex that the trio didn’t exactly act on its own, but rather with the help of a so-called master – a “peach” Pokemon.

These findings are mainly tied to datamining and one particular in-game cutscene showing the true story of Ogerpon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but they are also something players can deduce from some story beats, the Pokedex entries for the Loyal Three, and in-game items. In fact, when connecting the dots, it seems that Game Freak is being very obvious with its clues, even, as players can visit the local Kitakami shop called Peachy’s and spot what seems like a plush of the rumored “peach” Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Indigo Disk Will Likely Include the Leaked Master Peach Pokemon

The rumor first originated before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s The Teal Mask was even released, as the renowned Pokemon leaker Riddler Khu stated that a “peach Momotaro” creature was to be expected in the expansions. Momotaro is the protagonist in the folk tale about a child defeating an ogre with the help of a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant, which of course inspired the main plot of the DLC. The peach here is simply a way to describe the alleged Pokemon’s appearance, which was partly shown in the game during the Ogerpon backstory cutscene

This new Pokemon is likely to show up in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Indigo Disk DLC, and it may play a pivotal role in how the story of Kieran unfolds. Still, the creature is said to be the master of the Loyal Three because it looks like a part of their chains, possibly what gave them the Toxic Chain Ability in the first place. Looking at Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, the three all have strange Pokedex entries alluding to how they were smaller and weaker in the past, but then their longing for strength, wisdom, and beauty, respectively, made them different.

It seems that the master peach Pokemon is able to grant the wishes of those who ask, but it’s unclear whether this refers to just Pokemon or humans as well. As it stands, the most likely outcome will be that the master peach Pokemon looks indeed like the plushie sold by Peachy in The Teal Mask DLC, especially since the plush’s appearance and that of the critter itself in the datamined files revolving around the story cutscene are almost entirely the same.

Given that the master peach Pokemon seemingly gave the Loyal Three in The Teal Mask DLC their powers and their Toxic Chain Ability, it is most likely going to be a Poison-type creature as well. It remains to be seen whether it will have special synergies with the Loyal Three in similar ways to the likes of Dondozo and Tatsugiri, but players will most likely discover this creature is one of the main antagonists in The Indigo Disk, possibly affecting the DLC’s BB League storyline and also others in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
